Stanhope Plc

Since Stanhope Properties plc was formed in 1983, the Stanhope team have developed, either on their own or in partnership with others, over 50 office buildings providing more than 12 million sq. ft. of commercial space in central London and the M25 area.  Some of these developments are considered the most significant development projects in Europe of the time, most notably the Broadgate development in the City of London (3.5 million sq. ft.) and Stockley Park adjacent to Heathrow Airport (2 million sq. ft.).

Stanhope’s most recent projects include:

  • The 500,000 sq ft redevelopment of the Treasury building, procured using the Private Finance Initiative (PFI);
  • Chiswick Park, a 1.5 million sq. ft. business park in West London; and
  • Paternoster Square, comprising 700,000 sq. ft. of office and retail next to St Paul’s Cathedral.
Stanhope’s approach to development is ‘client friendly’, providing workspace which ensures the most efficient, desirable, and therefore most valuable, asset to the Occupier and Investor through the whole life of the building.  Stanhope adopts a collaborative approach to development, which delivers major building projects to best in class time, cost and quality ‘parameters’ or standards.

Stanhope is a research based organisation and has commissioned more than 450 research studies and won over 60 awards for development, design and construction excellence.  Stanhope’s commitment to the wider benefits of the built environment is emphasised by Stanhope’s involvement, alongside its core business, in arts projects such as Glyndebourne Opera House, Royal Opera House, Tate Modern, The British Film Institute’s Imax Theatre and work for the National Heritage Lottery Fund.
