James is the Project Development Executive for the CIC Design Quality Indicator (DQI) initiative with 6 years experience working in project development and facilitator training. As well as the core DQI James is also working on the DQI for Schools tool with the DCSF.

After completing a degree in English Literature and Art History in 2000 James worked for two years in Advertising and Publishing

For over 20 years James has performed at the highest level in the sport of fencing, he has won national titles in all age groups and has been British Senior National Champion four times. The highlight of his fencing career came in 2000 when he qualified as a member of Team GB for the Sydney Olympic Games. James is currently on the UK Sport Pathway scheme for the 2012 London Olympics.

James lives in Leigh-on-Sea with his wife and their son.
