Recruitment, Careers and Diversity (RCD)

This project has been devised to improve the numbers of entrants choosing to go into the sector’s professional occupations as well as promoting diversity and cross discipline working and is in progress.
This will be achieved by:

• Researching and mapping RCD activities across the built environment sector
• Supporting the built environment curriculum and qualifications
• IAG – via information development and distribution; advising and supporting careers networks and disseminating guidance

Building Visions and the Guidance Pack

This construction industry sponsored video is targeted at young people in key stage 3 and above (14 -18) who are thinking about their career choices and features professionals from diverse backgrounds speaking about their career path and working lives. To support this pack CIC have developed guidance notes with for teachers and careers advisors along with a short quiz which could be used to inform and deliver IAG and support curriculum based study time. Click here for further information on Building Visions and clips of the DVD.
