CSCS

As part of our commitment to occupational competence and the drive to improve Health and Safety performance CIC, acting on behalf of our member Professional institutions, have been working with the ConstructionSkills Certification Scheme [CSCS] in key strategic projects.

CIC are involved in maintaining the Professional Membership Route to obtaining cards under the, increasingly important, Construction Skills Certification Scheme – these proposals take into account a validated matched relationship between Professional Membership requirements and the NVQ/SVQ requirements of the CSCS Scheme.

In February 2006 CIC formed a review group comprised of its members who were tasked to inform the scope and content of the enhanced modular Health and Safety test in relation with the CSCS Professionally Qualified Persons Card (for visiting professionals) was launched in the Autumn 2006.

CIC in conjunction with CSCS is currently reviewing the form and content of the health and safety test.
