CSCS

As part of our commitment to occupational competence and the drive to improve Health and Safety performance CIC, acting on behalf of our member Professional institutions, have been working with the ConstructionSkills Certification Scheme [CSCS] in key strategic projects.

CIC are involved in maintaining the Professional Membership Route to obtaining cards under the, increasingly important, Construction Skills Certification Scheme – these proposals take into account a validated matched relationship between Professional Membership requirements and the Diploma NVQ/SVQ requirements of the CSCS Scheme.

The Professionally Qualified Person (PQP) card is for competency assessed members of CSCS approved Professional Bodies, such as ICE, CIOB, RICS ( click here for list). The scope of the PQP card has recently been redefined after lengthy consultation with the Professional Bodies, In order to apply for a PQP card the applicant must:

• Be a competence assessed member of an approved institution (click here for list)
• Pass the managerial and Professionsal (also known as the MAP) ConstructionSkills Health and Safety test (please note that there are specific revision materials for this test)
