Future Professionals Programme

CIC are supporting a pilot mentoring scheme in Newham called the Future Professional Programme. This scheme is aimed at young people many of whom are enrolled on the Construction Built Environment and Engineering diplomas.

The scheme has been developed in partnership with Newham Education Business Partnership, the London Borough of Newham and CIC was launched in March 2009.

This unique programme aims to give students who have expressed an interest in becoming an industry professional the support, experience and guidance of a practitioner. The aims of the scheme to:

  • Raise student’s aspirations
  • Support improvement in their academic performance
  • Develop key employability skills
  • Support informed career choices

Mentors and mentees will have regular meetings at the students’ school or college along with email contact via a secure and monitored website.

We welcome application from a range of professionals including:

  • Civil, structural and building services engineers
  • Architects and technologists
  • Project and construction managers
  • Surveyors
