Venue: Council Chambers, Civic Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne

A half day conference organised by the NE BIM HUB and CENE for the public sector and their partners on the use of Building Information Management (BIM)
BIM is for big projects’, ‘BIM is not applicable to public works’, ‘BIM won’t help us with our works programme’, ‘I thought BIM was not for local authority work’ etc all quotes heard recently from the public sector in relation to BIM.

This conference aims to dispel these myths and offer assistance to organisations such as local authorities, police and fire authorities, NHS and housing associations in developing their understanding and use of BIM.

The session will give an update on progress so far and provide an opportunity to view the tools and techniques available to Officers seeking more information on the benefits to be gained plus how to adopt BIM and make it part of their Procurement, Project and Asset Management strategies.
BIM can provide well-coordinated and economical solutions to organisations when building new facilities, refurbishing and alterations to existing and understanding their long term maintenance strategies.
