National Regions
CIC is now well into its programme of developing a regional network
throughout the nine English regions, Wales, Scotland and Northern
Ireland.
The aim of the National Regions is to provide a single voice for
the industry in discussions with the Regional Development Agencies
or Assemblies, establish a network of organisations to consider
issues relevant to the region and to promote public awareness of
the construction industry.
Organisations have already been formed in the South West, North
West, East, South East, West Midlands, North East, London, East
Midlands as well as Wales and Scotland. Discussions are also underway
with the remaining regions.
CIC does not wish to duplicate existing activity in the regions,
and so where possible, is working with existing pan-industry organisations,
including the Strategic Forum and Constructing Excellence, to produce
a cohesive voice.
