National Regions

CIC has developed regional network throughout the nine English regions, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland through its Regional Committees.

The aim of the Nations and Regions is to provide a single voice for the industry in discussions with the Regional Development Agencies or Assemblies, establish a network of organisations to consider issues relevant to the region and to promote public awareness of the construction industry.

At local level the CIC Regional Committees provide an influential, collective voice for the Built Environment with the Regional Development Agencies and government bodies.  The Regional organisation also creates a valuable platform for member organisations to share their current themes and priorities and facilitates the opportunity for joint initiatives.
Committees are currently active in the South West, South East, East, North East, East Midlands, Yorkshire & Humber and Northern Ireland.   Chairs for each of the committee meeting quarterly with CIC to discuss the activities within the region and any current issues they feel need addressing at a national level.

CIC does not wish to duplicate existing activity in the regions, and so where possible, is working with existing pan-industry organisations, including the Strategic Forum and Constructing Excellence, to produce a cohesive voice.
