North West Region
CIC-North West was officially launched in 2001 to provide a single voice for the Built Environment Professions in the North West of England. The CIC North West Committee is chaired by Tony Dixon of Birse.
What area does CIC-North West cover?
CIC-NW covers the regions of Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside.
What are the aims of CIC-North West?
CIC-North West aims to:
- Create an influential voice for the Built Environment with the North West Regional Development Agency (NWDA) and other Government bodies.
- Raise Government and industry awareness of common issues relating to construction professionals in the North West.
- Develop links and collaborative relationships with other construction bodies in the North West such as the Centre for Construction Innovation and support initiatives to deliver the Rethinking Construction agenda in the region.
- Actively support ConstructionSkills initiatives in the North West.
- Increase regional awareness of CPD (Continuing Professional Development) issues.
- Promote professional construction careers and recruitment.
- Improve business performance.
- Identify and promote areas for co-operation and collaboration to improve standards and promote best practice in the built environment.
- Improve the quality and dissemination of information for the benefit of all.
Which projects is CIC-North West currently working on?
- Providing support for regional ConstructionSkills initiatives
- Progressing the membership of the National CPD and Events website by increasing the number of institutions that add their North West regional CPD events, and publicizing the website more widely to built environment professionals.
- Organising a student workshop to investigate what students think about career opportunities in the Northwest.
