CIC Register of Adjudicators
Schedule of CPD Requirements for inclusion on the CIC Register
of Adjudicators
All adjudicators on the CIC Register must undertake CPD in accordance
with the requirements set out below, and confirm annually that
they have done so by completing the attached document.
The minimum amount of CPD required every year is 24 hours of
which:
- a minimum of 8 hours must consist of ‘Practical adjudication
experience’ as defined in 1 below and
- a minimum of 16 hours must consist of ‘Other appropriate
CPD’ as defined in 2 below of which a minimum of 6 hours
must come within paragraphs 2 (a) and/or (b)
1. ‘Practical adjudication experience’ means:
- acting as adjudicator, or pupil to an adjudicator, in a construction
dispute (up to a maximum of 8 hours per adjudication), and
- advising and/or representing a party in an adjudication in
a construction dispute (up to a maximum of 4 hours per adjudication).
2. ‘Other appropriate CPD’ means:
- attending lectures or courses on adjudication or relevant
aspects of construction law;
- attending adjudication workshops or surgeries;
- reading articles, papers, books, law reports etc on adjudication
or relevant aspects of construction law;
- lecturing on adjudication (including preparation);
- writing articles, papers, books etc on adjudication;
- serving on committees concerned with adjudication.
