In order to keep the NOS up to date and reflect ‘future skills’ needs and changing industry work patterns we need to review them on a periodic basis.
We are currently revising the NOS for Town Planning, Conservation and Building Control (Management). If you would like to find out more about the review or how to become involved in the review please contact David Cracknell, dcracknell@cic.org.uk.
We need your help to keep our National Occupational Standards (NOS) up to date. If you have any comments on the current NOS then please send us your feedback using this feedback form.

New National Occupational Standards (NOS) are now available for Town Planning, Conservation and Building Control (Technical Support).
These NOS have been developed by industry practitioners and are supported by the relevant professional institutions and employer bodies. They have been designed for people working in a variety of support roles in both the private and public sector.
The new NOS reflect emerging ‘future skills’ needs and changing industry work patterns, new technology and legislation and the national policy demands of low carbon and energy use. This will ensure that existing practitioners and new entrants to the industry are able to perform to a competent level and meet government and sector targets.
