CIC South West - Events and Activities
CIC South West is hosted a re-launch of the council in the region at the Architecture Centre, Bristol on 2 December 2009, with the opportunity of a private viewing of the RIBA’s 175th anniversary exhibition which opens to the public the following day.
The VIP reception event was hosted by chief executive of the CIC Graham Watts and CIC South West chair Barry Griffiths. Members of the South West’s construction professions as well as regional agencies and local authorities were represented which provided a key networking opportunity for invited guests.
The RIBA’s 175th anniversary exhibition features 175 boards depicting buildings from the past 175 years of the Institute’s history. These range from major public projects such as London’s Millennium Bridge, the Sage Gateshead, Baltic and Wembley Stadium to the Urban Splash Tutti Frutti housing project and smaller structures, such as the De La Warr Pavilion at Bexhill on Sea and the Swivelling Wind Shelter in Blackpool.
