Digital Forum

The CIC BIM Forum was set up as part of the UK Level 2 BIM initiative to help debate and disseminate the content of emerging standards and to discuss changes and updates as the use of these standards matured. With the BSI taking ownership of these standards, as they transition to the international ISO 19650 standards, and the UK BIM Alliance assisting the continued update, feedback and training initiatives, the CIC board has agreed that the forum’s mission should be adjusted to face the next generation of digital innovation.

The reinvigorated forum will move forward by providing thought leadership and guidance to the professional institutes on a wide array of emerging digital tools, focusing effort and emphasis on topics that will be influential to the immediate outcomes of members. The forum will look to disseminating knowledge to industry by producing a series of digital guides on a wide range of nascent topics such as digital surveys, robotics and next generation construction deliverables.

To align with its new goals the Forum will be rebranded the CIC Digital Forum. Dale Sinclair, who will continue to chair this group, stated “I am delighted that our group can continue to bring valuable insights and knowledge to industry as we all look to upskill into an exciting digital future”.
