The next session in CIC’s Economic and Policy Briefing series is on Tuesday 10 November from 9-11:30, online via Zoom.
Chaired by The Rt Hon. Nick Raynsford, the CIC Economic and Policy Briefings provide regular economic analyses, policy updates and comments on major commercial projects in the construction industry. The briefings bring together leading policy-makers, economists and senior industry players to discuss the key topics in an informal setting.
The session in November will feature presentations from:
- Barnaby Wharton, Director, Future Electricity Systems at RenewableUK. He will speak about the Government's ambition for 40GW of offshore wind by 2030 and the role of hydrogen in the system to meet net-zero carbon.
- Professor Noble Francis, Economics Director at the Construction Products Association. His presentation will be on Construction Forecasts for 2021.
- Caroline Sudworth, Technical Apprenticeships Consortium, and Stephen Bartle, University College of Estate Management. They will present on the new report produced by UCEM, TAC and CIC, 'Build back better: Improving the apprenticeship system to better support infrastructure’.
