Climate Adaptation & Resilience: Multi-sector Innovations in Biodiversity Health

This event has finished

From nature-based solutions to ecological systems design practices, the webinar will provide a comprehensive exploration of strategies for adapting and building resilient and thriving places.

For far too long we have designed ourselves into a human-centric world, where spaces and places are heavily people focussed. This has not only led to a steep decline in our natural world, contributing to habitat fragmentation and ecosystem degradation, but also a lack of connection to nature as a whole. The impact of such a phenomena has resulted in biodiversity loss at rates unprecedented in human history, while also restricting access to nature rich spaces within our immediate environments. This multidisciplinary webinar will explore particular themes to address these challenges. With a panel of experts from various fields, we will discuss ways of collaboration to develop effective and holistic strategies to restore and regenerate biodiversity and address the impact of nature connection on public health. From nature-based solutions to ecological systems design practices, the webinar will provide a comprehensive exploration of strategies for adapting and building resilient and thriving places.

Join us on this one hour webinar to hear from three industry experts and have your questions answered.

About the organisers:

The Construction Industry Council (CIC) Climate Change Committee brings together volunteer experts from over 40 UK membership organisations in the built and natural environment sectors, all of which have signed up to take part in the Carbon Zero Climate Action Plan for Professional Institutions. Led by the Landscape Institute, Workstream 8 (WS8) is convened under this Committee and focuses on Adaptation and Resilience. WS8 explores the three main themes of water, rising heat and biodiversity which play a pivotal role in climate resilience, adaptation and mitigation.
