Combating Climate Change Internationally

This event has finished

11:00-12:30

Addressing the issue of climate change, the UN has said that it is “the defining issue of our time and we are at a defining moment”. From shifting weather patterns that threaten food production, to rising sea levels that increase the risk of catastrophic flooding, the impacts of climate change are global in scope and unprecedented in scale.

It is clear that without drastic international action today, adapting to these impacts in the future will be more difficult and costly. The construction and infrastructure sector has a crucial role to play in the fight against climate change and without its active engagement the battle cannot be won. Internationally, where less wealthy nations will need extra help and innovation to reduce their dependence on fossil fuels, the ingenuity and expertise of construction professionals will be pivotal.

Around the world, companies working in the construction and infrastructure sector are playing a key role in the international fightback against the effects of climate change. Their ingenuity and innovations are making a real difference and many are advising governments and NGOs on global strategies to make a real difference.

As we approach the international COP26 conference, this webinar will look at the international battle to address climate change, the role of the construction and infrastructure sector in that and what the world needs to do to win it.

Infrastructure Intelligence Editor Andy Walker will be speaking.
