East Midlands BIM Hub Event

This event has finished

Building information modelling (BIM) touches design, construction and asset management at all levels and is a significant step in the move towards a digitally built Britain. BIM has the potential to bring multi benefits to all participants in these process no matter how small or large they might be. It is key to understand how BIM can work for you and the projects and property you’re involved with.

The first East Midlands BIM Hub Event will take place at Nottingham Trent University (Newton Building Lecture Theatre 1) on Wednesday 12 June.
Registration is 8.30am for a 9.00am start and the event will close at 11.30.

Called ‘What is the cost of BIM’ the purpose of this event is to look at the wide application of BIM, in terms of both technology and process, the costs of learning, development and adoption and the efficiencies to be generated through improved information and risk management. The event will also seek to understand regional BIM awareness and readiness and to feed back to Government on BIM reach within the East Midlands Region.

The event is for clients, all members of the supply chain, academics and students alike and is the start of a number of events which will follow during the year. This initial event will consider:

  • BIM awareness and readiness;
  • Potential client and supply chain benefits; and
  • Key BIM publications, guidance and other resources available to you.

It will kick start with a panel discussion with contributions from the steering group members underpinning the East Midlands region. This will be followed by networking plus mini Q&A surgeries designed to deal with a whole host of ideas, queries and concerns you might have about BIM.
