Green Construction Board: A Carbon Review

This event has finished

12.45pm – 2pm

This event will provide an update on the Infrastructure Carbon Review, 7 years on from its first publication, and provide insights on the use and barriers to low carbon concrete ahead of a forthcoming publication from the Green Construction Board’s Low Carbon Concrete Group.

The Green Construction Board (GCB) exists to drive forward Low Carbon and Net Zero Construction. In 2013 it launched the Infrastructure Carbon Review to demonstrate and encourage industry to embrace a lower carbon supply chain. This report has been revisited and an update published in 2021. The first section of this GCB webinar provides an overview of progress. David Riley, Anglian Water; Heleni Pantelidou, Arup and Maria Manidaki, Mott Macdonald will discuss how 7 years on good progress has been made, although the decarbonising of our infrastructure needs to move faster.

The second session of this GCB webinar will focus on the a recent survey of clients, designers and the supply chain to explore attitudes and action related to the use of low carbon concretes. An update will be provided by representatives of the GCB’s Low Carbon Concrete Group. The session will feature a presentation of the survey results by Andy Mulholland, Amcrete as well as a panel session that will take questions from delegates. The panel will feature Andy Powell, Environment Agency; Simon Houska, Byrne Brothers and Richard Kershaw, Cemex as well as some of the speakers from session one.
