Net Zero Carbon Buildings: Steps to Take Now
This event has finished
A discussion about the steps we need to take now to ensure the UK’s building stock becomes a source of net zero pride.
As part of London Climate Action Week, Arup invites you to join a discussion about how net zero carbon buildings can be achieved in practice. We invite you to join Selvin Brown, director of net zero buildings at UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), Sarah Ratcliffe, chief executive of Better Buildings Partnership, a group that represents commercial property owners committed to reducing their assets’ carbon impacts, and Ann Dalzell, a net zero building specialist at Arup, to focus on how net zero carbon buildings can be achieved in practice. Their discussion will be chaired by Stephen Fernandez, Arup’s buildings retrofit leader in the UK.
Organisations across the property sector are committing to change, announcing net zero targets and publishing their strategies. The next step is implementation – decarbonising existing buildings and ensuring new-build developments are net zero from the outset. Achieving net zero won’t be easy, but it’s an essential journey.
Please join us for a discussion on the steps to be taken now to ensure the UK’s building stock is transformed from contributing approximately 40% of our annual national carbon emissions to becoming a source of net zero pride.
