Third online event for NRAC
We are delighted to announce our speakers:
- First speaker NRAC Consultant Jean Hewitt, Senior Inclusive Design Consultant & Trainer at Buro Happold, will be talking about the development of a new Design for the Mind PAS Standard with primary sponsor TfL.
- Second Speaker Elspeth Grant of Triple A Solutions, with an update on fire safety.
- Third speaker Pip Jackson, UCL Access and Inclusion Manager and President of the Access Association, will be talking about how UCL are taking inclusive environment work wider than disability to work towards a campus inclusive of all.
The session will be from 9:30am to 12:45pm.
BSI are developing a new PAS standard entitled Design for the Mind, Neurodiversity and the Built Environment. NRAC member and appointed technical author for the PAS, Jean Hewitt, will give an overview of the technical components of the proposed new standard, which has been drafted with the support of a steering group of leading experts and is due to be published early next year. The PAS will be an important first step towards establishing much needed guidance in this area, with the aim of making environments easier for the significant number of people with sensory processing conditions who experience sound, touch, smell and light differently.
Tickets:
£50 (including VAT) for NRAC members and supporters
£60 (including VAT) for non-members
The second and third speakers will be announced shortly.
