RICS BIM Conference 2014 - London

This event has finished

By 2016, all centrally procured Government construction projects, no matter their size, must be delivered using Building Information Modelling. The Government hopes this will lead to the industry-wide adoption of BIM as the benefits become more widely understood. The Government’s Industrial Strategy for Construction 2025 and the Digital Built Britain agenda have highlighted the vision for the UK industry to lead the world in innovation, through a digital economy and the rise of smart construction. The conference will assess the role BIM has to play in achieving this vision through cross industry collaboration.

As more and more firms implement BIM, we need to move past the question of ‘Why BIM?’ to ‘How BIM?’ Through engaging discussions, live case studies, international and cross-discipline perspectives, and insight on how BIM is successfully implemented in practice, the conference will allow delegates to assess the benefits of moving beyond Level 2 BIM requirements to a fully collaborative and integrated model . As Level 2 develops, Level 3 will emerge through the early adopters. The ‘Moving forward with BIM‘ session offers practitioners the opportunity to assess the changes in working practice that this transformation will bring.
Expert speakers will address the benefits of BIM at different stages of a project’s lifecycle, return on investment scenarios, training, and the importance of cross-discipline collaboration. This conference will highlight the support available for SMEs to ensure they capitalise on the benefits BIM offers, as well as focussing on the need for greater engagement from those working in facilities management. Experienced professionals will address the practicalities of connecting models into a lifecycle facilities management environment and the need for early FM/end user involvement.

From land, to construction and the management of property, BIM allows and encourages a whole life approach through the measurement, connection and analysis of data. Whatever your level of BIM experience, join us at the RICS BIM Conference as we explore the new processes, technology innovations and BIM adoption in land, construction and property, through a mixture of plenary sessions, panel debates and streamed presentations.

CIC BIM Hub Champions Gary Ross and Sarah Davidson will be taking part in several of the panels.
