This seminar will look at the arts, sports, theatre design and the building regulations and whether developments and service provision are succeeding in the creation of a truly barrier inclusive environment for everyone – including the growing number of disabled and older people.

Graham was the Project Director and involved right from the very start. Prior to working for Cheshire West and Chester he was the Project Director for the Curve Theatre in Leicester.

Jo is the senior producer at Unlimited, a programme that supports ambitious, creative projects by outstanding disabled artists and companies aiming to change perceptions of disabled people by commissioning disabled artists in the UK and internationally to make new and high quality work.

Dr Jeanette Dodd,
Independent Accessibility Consultant
Jeanette has recently been awarded a PhD from the School of the Built Environment at the University of Salford. Her research explored English football stadia provision for spectators who are wheelchair users, identifying features that can limit, or which can promote their inclusion.
There and Back again – 10 years of access and inclusion in and out of government
Richard Harral,
Technical Director of Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE)
Richard was Head of Technical Policy at Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG). He will indulge in reflections on a decade of work on Part M of the Building Regulations including thoughts on accessible housing, campaigns, and implications for professionalism flowing from the Hackitt review.
