RICS hybrid event on the systematic and regulatory changes and how to address issues in the planning and development sector

This hybrid event will give delegates a chance to connect with us in-person or virtually. Hearing from industry experts on proposed reforms to the planning systems, including updates on the National Planning Policy Framework, Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill, and further policy expectations for the sector. It will provide stakeholders with a unique opportunity to understand how forthcoming changes will impact them and how to navigate an ever-changing market.

The programme will cover fundamental measures impacting development, looking at reduced housing affordability and numbers, rising costs of materials and a lack of a strategic housing delivery approach. Key stakeholders from local government as well as Labour officials will set out their priorities for the future and how they plan to implement changes. Case studies will give the audience a lived perspective on how to navigate the hurdles of the planning and development process. As well as an exploration into the digitalisation of the planning process, understanding the benefits that high-quality data and technology can bring.

We will also cover the everchanging environmental regulation surrounding planning and development. Exploring factors such as renewable energy, nutrient neutrality, and biodiversity net gain. It has never been more imperative for surveyors to stay informed and up to date on the future planning and development landscape.
