British Olympic Association Supplier Recognition Scheme

Suppliers to the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games can now champion their involvement in the sporting spectacular, after a landmark deal reached by the Government, British Olympic Association (BOA) and International Olympic Committee (IOC). The new Scheme – the first of its kind – will give eligible suppliers recognition for the part they played in the success of the London 2012 Games.

The planning and delivery of London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games showed British business at its best. All across the UK, businesses large and small responded to the unique opportunity, supplying high quality goods and services and in doing so demonstrated the capacity of UK business to innovate and deliver to exacting standards and short timescales. The vast majority of these businesses have enhanced their reputations and deserve to use their success in attracting new customers or winning new business particularly export markets.

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and the British Olympic Association (BOA), supported by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), are delighted to be able to announce details of the new Supplier Recognition Scheme which will benefit a large proportion of the businesses involved in supplying goods and services for the London 2012 Games and who are currently subject to contractual restrictions that limit their ability to market their associations with the Games.

Businesses that supplied goods and services to the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Limited (LOCOG) and the Olympic Delivery Authority (or through their supply chains) will now be apple to apply to the BOA for a Scheme licence granting package of valuable recognition rights to hep recognise their part in the success of the Games. Thanks to funding from Government, the new licenses will be available for eligible suppliers free of charge.
