Considerate Constructors Scheme seeks new Board of Directors
Posted: 19th September 2016
As the newly appointed Executive Chairman of the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS), I am looking for people to help the CCS to move to the next level, to help the construction industry enhance its reputation.
The CCS is an independent organisation formed in 1997, by the industry for the industry, to improve the image of construction to Government, business, consumers and the general public. Since its formation, it has significantly altered the approach the construction industry takes to those who are affected by their activities. It has achieved wide recognition and is highly regarded and respected by those aware of and involved in the Scheme.
I am seeking new Scheme Board members who are committed to the CCS ethos and who can help expand the work of the Scheme to enhance the construction industry’s reputation. As well as looking for people with the skills, experience and personal qualities to be effective Board Directors, I am particularly seeking those with experience/expertise in the areas of commercial contracts, outsourcing, finance, and marketing and communications.
If you can commit your time, intellectual and emotional energy, business and personal skills, and experience, I’d like to hear from you.
The time commitment will be no less than four meetings a year, normally to be held in London. Board Directors will be remunerated and reasonable travel and subsistence expenses may be claimed.
If you are interested in shaping the future reputation of the construction industry through the Considerate Constructors Scheme, please email me at isabel.martinson@ccscheme.org.uk or call me on 07767 888944 to discuss in more detail.
The application deadline is 1200 on Wednesday 5 October 2016.
Terms of reference, person/skills specifications and application procedure are available on request from suzy.cohen@ccscheme.org.uk, telephone 01920 485959 or via the Scheme’s website www.ccscheme.org.uk.
An open selection process for new Board members will be conducted with interviews taking place in London on Tuesday 11 October. The new Board of Directors will start work at a meeting in London on Wednesday 2 November 2016.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Isabel Martinson
