New Chair for South East & London Committee

CIC welcomes a new chair for their South East & London Regional Committee. Philip Baker is a Past President of the Association for Project Safety (APS) and a co-opted member of the CIC Health and Safety Committee.
Trained as a Building Engineer, Philip spent fifteen year working predominantly in design practice before moving into construction health and safety risk management through planning supervision. Since then he has been providing support and guidance to all CDM duties holders and is has speaker internationally on various subjects including Prevention Through Design.
In addition to being a long standing member of the CIC Health and Safety Committee Philip has sat on a number of NOS/NVQ Working Groups including Design and CDM Co-ordination and was a member of the CIC Working Group that created the Scope of Services that accompany the CIC Consultants Contract.
In addition Philip is Chair of the International Safety and Health Construction Co-ordinators (ISHCCO) Certification Working Group, Chair of IOSH’s Construction Section in the London Metropolitan Branch area, Vice Chair of the British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) and a Director of the Occupational Safety and Health Consultants Register (OSHCR), Vice Chair of the Central and Westminster Branch Management Team of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and has been nominated as Secretary of a new Working Well Together Group that is being formed in London.
