The CIC has appointed Niall Lawless as Chair of the CIC Adjudicator Nominating Body (ANB) Management Board for a 3-year period. Mr Lawless is a Chartered Arbitrator, Adjudicator and Mediator as well as an Engineer. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building, the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and the British Computer Society. He is a member of a number of important industry Adjudicator Nominating Body panels, and a member of the £16 billion Crossrail Adjudication Panel.
The CIC Adjudicator Nominating Body (ANB) Management Board is one of a number of specialist committees and panels maintained by the CIC. The CIC ANB Management Board acts as the reference point within CIC for all issues and matters relating to adjudication that affect CIC’s members. This includes maintaining the CIC’s Register of Adjudicators and making nominations, overseeing the continued publication and updating of the CIC Model Adjudication Procedure, and collecting and publishing data on adjudication.
CIC is currently undertaking a refresh of the ANB Management Board constitution and the remit of the operations of the adjudication service that CIC provides. With a new Chairman in place, CIC will now be inviting its member organisations to consider their representation on the ANB Management Board with appointments being made by the CIC Executive Board.
On appointment, Mr Lawless said, “I would like to record the CIC’s appreciation and thank Mr John Reilly, past Chairman, and the other members of the CIC ANB Management Board for their significant contributions that have helped the service move from strength to strength. As the CIC ANB Management Board is looking for new members, I would like to call members of CIC member organisations who are interested in being part of the new CIC ANB Management Board to come forward. They can do that through their respective professional body”.
