Updated National Occupational Standards (NOS) Now Available
Posted: 1st March 2008
CIC as a partner in ConstructionSkills have been overseeing the development work on the revision of the Surveying, Property and Maintenance NVQs (level 4 & 5) in conjunction with industry experts. These NOS have been designed for those working in a variety of specialisms in the fields of Maintenance Management, Quantity Surveying, General Practice, Building Surveying and Valuation.
The updated NOS provides a means of recognising the competence levels of members within these professions and are aimed at those working at technical, managerial or strategic level.
The occupational standards – the building blocks of NVQs/SVQs – have been modernised and simplified. Key improvements include the replacement of the original suites of separate awards with a single “core and options” matrix. The new structure allows candidates to build NVQ/SVQs around common competences, to suit their own individual personal development.
