Women into Construction and Engineering
Posted: 19th February 2010
The CIC ConstructionSkills team attended a careers fair in Bedford which was aimed at young females aged between 14 and 19 years.
The event was organised by ConstructionSkills to promote opportunities for women in construction and engineering.
Young women were given chance to explore the career opportunities available to them through taking part in activities on the day, speaking to employers and businesses about the varied opportunities available to them and receiving detailed information about career prospects and remuneration potential.
The event also enabled school careers advisors, connexions staff, parents and guardians to fully understand the fantastic opportunities these industries have to offer women through targeted seminars.
Early feedback has shown that the event was positively received by all who attended.
