Built Environment Professional Education (BEPE) Project
Duration: 2016 - 2017
The BEPE Project is a joint government / Mayor of London Paralympic Legacy Project, that is building on the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games – the ‘most accessible Games ever’.
The aim of the project is to make inclusive design a key part of built environment training and education to ensure that in the future all built environment professionals have the skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver inclusive projects.
CIC has assumed responsibility for the BEPE Project in 2016/2017 to help smooth the transition from a government driven project to an industry owned and led project. Tony Burton will be the Inclusive Environment Champion on the CIC Board and Paul Morrell, who chaired the BEPE Project Board since its inception in March 2014 will continue to be the chair of the BEPE Project Board during this transitional year.
The Government’s Office for Disability Issues has published a BEPE Project Progress Report which provides details of the project and how CIC plans to taken the work forward.
