The first Inquiry of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Excellence in the Built Environment focuses on procurement practice; gathering information with the aim of cost savings and increased efficiency in the construction process. Evidence of good practice in eliminating waste, improving value, enhancing quality, reducing time and cost, as well as examples of innovative procurement ideas are examined.
The findings of the Inquiry where presented to the Rt Hon Francis Maude MP, the Paymaster General, in response to the APPG’s undertaking to the Minister at its meeting on 7th February 2011. It is also hoped that the findings will assist the Government in contributing effectively to the current Plan for Growth.
The APPG for EBE Commission of Inquiry has been established and comprises of members of both Houses of Parliament and senior members of the construction professions.
