Bridget Bartlett Chair of CIC's Diversity Panel

welcomes the appointment of Bridget Bartlett, BA Cert Ed MBA FCMI as the new Chair of its Diversity Panel.

The CIC Diversity Panel is a collaborative forum and platform for members of all construction disciplines and professional bodies, to identify and promote diversity policy and activities within the construction industry, to benefit society. It aims to improve the perception and image of the construction industry through the promotion of diversity best practice.

Bridget Bartlett developed her career in Education for 25 years progressing from teaching Mathematics to becoming Principal and Chief Executive of Bexley College in Kent, specialising in Construction studies, where she led 450 staff serving 7000 students.

She joined the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) as Chief Operating Officer in 2008 and is responsible for the Institute’s Operations team, a portfolio which includes education, examinations, membership services, international development and IT. During her time at the Institute Bridget has overseen a number of critical developments, including the introduction of a competence based qualification for Chartered Membership, and International recognition for CIOB qualifications.

Bridget also chairs the Standards Group of the 14-19 Advisory Board for Construction and the Built Environment Education. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Constructors.

Speaking of Bridget Bartlett’s appointment, Graham Watts, CIC Chief Executive said: “ I am delighted to welcome Bridget to this new role. Her extensive experience in education and her leadership capabilities will be a great asset in taking forward our work on diversity and access. She will be leading a new Panel, which contains a wealth of experience from across the broad spectrum of CIC’s membership.”
