CIC appoints new Honorary Treasurer

The Construction Industry Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Jo Watkins, chartered landscape architect and Past President of the Landscape Institute, as its Honorary Treasurer.
Jo has an extensive understanding of the construction industry, gained by working both as lead consultant and as part of a consultant team, and by being client on occasions. He served on the Landscape Institute Council for many years and was Honorary Treasurer between 2002-2006. He continues to sit on the LI Awards Committee and on the Editorial Advisory Board for ‘Landscape’ magazine.
Jo studied at Thames Polytechnic and qualified as a landscape architect in 1987, after which he spent his entire career in private practice, latterly as a partner in Watkins:Dally, from which he retired in 2010. The practice developed a strong track record in public realm and campus design for which it won a number of awards.
During his career Jo has held a number of teaching positions including at the University of Greenwich, at Metropolitan University and at the Bartlett School of Architecture, in London. He has also contributed to numerous publications. He sits on the Advisory Board to the Dean of the School of Architecture, Design and Construction at the University of Greenwich. He is a director of Estateways plc, a property development and investment company based in South Wales.
Jo is Chair of the Twinkle Park Trust which for many years has managed a community park in Deptford and he is Chair of Governors at Brooklands Primary School. He also sits on the Advisory Board for the Greenwich World Heritage Site.
Born in Swansea, Jo now lives in South London. He is married with two children. Jo likes to watch Swansea City whenever he gets the chance and he is a member of CAMRA.
