CIC CEO receives ICWCI honorary fellowship
Posted: 16th November 2010
CIC Chief Executive Graham Watts OBE has been awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Institute ofClerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate (ICWCI).
The ICWCI is the professional body that supports quality construction through inspection. As a membership organisation they provide a support network of meeting centres, technical advice, publications and events to help keep members up to date with the ever changing construction industry.
Upon accepting his award Graham Watts OBE commented “It is a great pleasure and privilege to have been awarded Honorary Fellowship of the Institute. I have worked in close association with the ICWCI for very many years and have always valued and respected the solid knowledge, advice and guidance about construction and building that I’ve received from many officers and members of the Institute over this time.
I know very well that this is the highest honour that the Institute can bestow and I am very touched to be its recipient and I thank the President (and his immediate predecessors) and the Secretary for the award, which I will always treasure.
These are difficult times for the economy and the construction industry, in particular, but they make it all the more important to value and endorse the high professional standards maintained and developed by institutions such as the ICWCI.
The industry will return to growth in due course and the ICWCI will – I’m sure – continue to grow from strength to strength.”
