Posted: 3rd January 2014
CIC congratulates Eve Farraud, Executive Assistant to Graham Watts, Chief Executive of CIC, on being awarded the British Empire Medal in the New Year Honours' List for services to the construction industry.
Eve started work with CIC as a temp for one week and she has now been on the Council's staff for sixteen years as a highly valued member of the management team.
Speaking after the announcement Graham Watts said: " I'm delighted that Eve's important contribution to our members and the wider construction industry has been recognised in this way and I know I speak for everyone in CIC in congratulating her on this excellent and well deserved achievement. It is especially gratifying that Eve is part of an historic achievement of women outnumbering men on the list for the very first time."
Eve Farraud responded to the news by saying: "I am absolutely delighted to receive this fantastic honour but I am very mindful of the fact that so many people within CIC do such wonderful work which often goes unrecognised. I sincerely hope that my acceptance of this award will be a testament to the many wonderful colleagues that I have worked with over the past 16 years within CIC, who equally deserve to be praised."
