Sustainable Communities: A Coalition for the Delivery of 1.5 Million Homes

17th June 2026 | 10:00 AM

Bringing together leaders from across the built environment sector, the conference will call upon the industry to consider how we can work together to support the government’s ambitious housing delivery and place making commitments. The conference will consider how innovations in professional and commercial practice can support delivery to move mainstream development from house building to place building.

Hosted at Woburn House, the event will discuss research and leading innovative practice that is addressing viability; founding more collaborative working practices and new alignments. The aim will be to support mainstream development – that takes place on the edge of every UK town and village - to build fully fledged, sustainable communities, meet housing demand and need, stimulate local economic capture and productivity, and build bridges between urban and rural practice.

In addition to networking opportunities, attendees will gain insight into sustainable community building, with an emphasis on infrastructure-led delivery. Attendees will be invited to share knowledge, explore how the objectives of building quality, meeting community needs and achieving delivery can be addressed and consider how more collaborative working practices might eb established.
