CCS 2013 National Site Awards
Posted: 10th May 2013
The Considerate Constructors Scheme’s 2013 National Site Awards, which celebrate the UK’s most considerate construction sites of last year, have now completed.
The 2013 National Site Awards consisted of 11 ceremonies held in Edinburgh, Manchester and London, and were attended by thousands of construction industry professionals. The awards recognise the exceptional standards of consideration shown by registered sites towards their local neighbourhoods and the general public, the workforce and the environment.
This year, the Scheme presented 441 Bronze, 204 Silver and 77 Gold Awards. From the Gold Award winning sites, the very highest performing were put forward for the prestigious title of Most Considerate Site.
For their outstanding contribution towards improving the image of construction, it was Longcross Construction who were awarded the title of Most Considerate Site 2013 for their work on the new Sainsbury’s store in Bognor Regis. A further 26 Gold Award winning sites considered for this title were presented with Most Considerate Site Runner-up Awards.
Commenting on this year’s awards, Scheme Chairman David Watson said: “Once again even throughout these tough times for our industry, many sites have excelled in not only maintaining standards, but surpassing what has been achieved in previous years. The award ceremonies are an excellent showcase for these sites, and give the industry the opportunity to reward those site teams that have gone that extra mile. I wish to congratulate all those who have received an award.”
Any site registered with the Scheme is eligible to win a National Site Award providing that the site, or registered phase, has completed on or before the 31st December in the previous year. From the sites that completed in 2012, award winners were selected from the top performing 10%.
The Scheme would like to congratulate all award winning sites for their outstanding achievement.
The Considerate Constructors Scheme is a self-financing, independent organisation owned by the Construction Umbrella Bodies (Holdings) Ltd which is made up of CIC and CPA.
