CIC appoints BIM Regional Ambassador
Posted: 10th September 2012
The Construction Industry Council is pleased to welcome new Regional BIM Ambassador Steve Race to the team.
Steve has been recruited to work alongside CIC and the BIM Task Group to facilitate the delivery of the BIM Hubs Regional Events; a series of sixteen free, half-day workshops, entitled ‘A BIM Focus’, organised by CIC to take place this autumn, commencing on 25th September 2012 in Newcastle.
Steve’s involvement with BIM started thirty five years ago, when he was part of a team that developed one of the world’s first 3D multi disciplinary CAD systems at Oxford Regional Health Authority. This system would now carry the label ‘BIM’ and was aimed at the first assessments of how new technologies would change the way in which the Health Estates were managed. Steve has accumulated a unique body of experience in co-operative working including; software platforms, business strategies for BIM, project team facilitation, contributions to standards organisations and a more collaborative legal landscape, as means of exploring and implementing BIM.
Steve’s role will include:
• the implementation of new Regional Hubs
• supporting their development,
• providing advice to the Hubs and attending meetings, helping to facilitate them.
