Considerate Constructors Scheme announces senior leadership changes to enable sector progress

Desiree Blamey is a seasoned finance and business executive with over 15 years of experience across construction, engineering and advisory sectors in both the UK and Australia. Her promotion follows her impactful tenure as CCS’s Head of Partnerships which included driving partnerships with key contractors, developers, government stakeholders and industry trade bodies and institutions in the UK and Ireland.

Desiree’s appointment completes the strategic expansion of the leadership team with a clear objective to amplify industry impact, elevate standards and drive best practice. Desiree began her career in Australia in senior accounting roles, followed by eight years at the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) as Director of Finance, where she led governance, financial restructuring and long-term growth initiatives. Desiree has a particular focus on creating opportunities for women and underrepresented groups in construction. She has called for more ambitious action across the sector to eradicate sexual harassment. Desiree also serves as Treasurer of the Violence Intervention Project, a charity tackling youth violence.

April Comerford and Mark Field have also joined the leadership team. As Director of Corporate Development, April will focus on strengthening relationships with key client partners and driving business growth. Mark, as Director of Operations, will lead efforts to streamline operations and embed technology-driven solutions.
