End of Year Celebration
Posted: 16th July 2008
Year 9 students from Royal Docks Community School celebrated with parents, teachers and professionals from the built environment industry after completing the 2007/8 CIC-ConstructionSkills Coaching Scheme.
The celebratory evening enabled the students to share their experiences, knowledge and abilities developed over the duration of the eight-month scheme.
The presentations included a proposed plan for a swimming pool within the grounds of the school, as well as several proposed plans for various local and international constructions.
“The students created and presented a series of exciting project and ideas. We were all very impressed by the high standard of their work and the commitment and enthusiasm shown by everyone.”
2008/9 will see an increase in the number of schools taking part in the Coaching Scheme which will include schools in Manchester and the London Borough of Southwark in addition to the existing schools in the London Borough of Newham.
The Construction Industry Council is currently recruiting voluntary built environment coaches for the scheme.
