Research into the Digitalisation of the Construction Products Sector
Posted: 8th October 2025
Camrosh, have been commissioned by OPSS (the UK’s Office for Product Safety and Standards within the Department for Business and Trade) to research a project entitled “Research into the Digitalisation of the Construction Products Sector”.
The aim of this research is to address the gaps in OPSS’ evidence base regarding knowledge of digitisation, digitalisation, and digital transformation across the Construction Product industry. The outcome of this research will help prepare the UK for future trade, particularly in light of upcoming changes to EU regulation and the anticipated introduction of digital construction product passports. This will support efforts to prevent untraceable and non-compliant products from entering the UK market.
The project consists of two parts, a literature review and stakeholder engagement (survey and interviews). This survey is the first part of the stakeholder engagement and it will be followed by in-depth interviews.
Participation will help shape decision making of OPSS in the development of future standards and regulation in the construction industry. This survey will also help OPSS to capture industry needs and views to directly inform the research being carried out. This will, in turn, help create regulation that ensures construction products are safe and that the industry is supported in trading successfully.
The survey can be found here. Please respond to the survey by 12th October 2025.
