Top honours awarded for highest performing UK construction sites
Posted: 17th July 2018
Sainsbury’s Supermarkets’ Redhill construction site has been crowned ‘Ultra Site of the Year’ at the inaugural Considerate Constructors Scheme National Ultra Site Awards.
As a model of best practice for the industry, the ultimate objective of Ultra Sites is to provide the next level of achieving even greater standards and collaboration across the entire industry - to improve not only their own performance but that of the wider construction industry, particularly through their supply chain.
The Awards recognise top-performing Ultra Sites in 10 categories of excellence.
Each category represents the key attributes of being an exceptional Ultra Site, from collaboration to community engagement, client recognition and innovation.
Over 100 guests representing Ultra Sites from across the UK gathered at the National Ultra Site Awards ceremony, which took place on 12 July at the prestigious Level39 venue in One Canada Square, London.
Dr David Hancock, Construction Director for the Cabinet Office’s Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA), presented winners with their Awards and all finalists with certificates of recognition.
Dr David Hancock, Construction Director at the Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA), Cabinet Office commented: “The Considerate Constructors Scheme’s Ultra Sites model helps raise the bar for the construction industry, and is a valuable contribution in helping to modernise the sector.
"Congratulations to all winners and finalists of the 2018 National Ultra Site Awards. Together they show what we can achieve when we all strive for the highest possible standards.”
