CIC Announces E4BE Merger

CIC is pleased to announce the amalgamation of the CIC Education for the Built Environment Committee (E4BE) and the 14 to 19 Advisory Committee for Construction and the Built Environment Education. The new committee is to be known as the Construction and Built Environment Education Advisory Committee.

Chaired by Roy Cavanagh MBE (Seddon Construction), the newly merged committee includes membership drawn from a range of organisations representing the breadth of the construction and built environment education. These organisations include employers, professional bodies, universities, further education and schools. Roy said “I am delighted that E4BE is joining the Advisory Committee to help create a single voice for the sector on education issues and policy. I am looking forward to leading the work of the new committee to address the important challenges that lie ahead”.

The committee is focused on providing a public voice for those with a legitimate interest in construction and the built environment education. Its role is to help shape construction & the built environment education, to help widen access to a more diverse pool of talent, to promote best practice in the delivery of education including in relation to work related education and to develop and maintain education standards and encourage the delivery of suitable qualifications based on them.

The merged body will be well-placed to join up all stakeholders.”
