New Chair for CIC West Midlands Committee

CIC welcomes a new chair for its West Midlands Regional Committee. Noel Street is a director of Stephen George & Partners, an award winning architect practice based in Leeds, London and Leicester with a new office shortly to be opened in Birmingham.. SGP architects undertake a mixture of logistics and city and rural residential, education, healthcare, sports, leisure, commercial and community projects and frameworks. These vary from sustainable contemporary to traditional and listed buildings across the UK and internationally.
Trained as an Architect, Noel spent his early years working in multi discipline design practices in Hong Kong before moving back to the UK. He is a multi-talented architect with an international mindset providing an in-depth knowledge of complex developments operating in a highly regulated and commercially fluid environment.
Noel chaired the Constructing Excellence club in Birmingham for seven years until 2014 and continues to assist the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBS LEP) as a committee member on both the Planning Sub Group and Development Management Group. He also organizes GBS LEP stakeholder engagement events for the Property Industry of Birmingham in partnership with Constructing Excellence - Birmingham and CIC West Midlands. Noel continues to be an active committee member of the RIBA Midlands Forum.
Noel aims to play an active role in the West Midlands for the CIC engaging with professional bodies, research organisations and specialist business associations to address key issues of: BREXIT, Economy, Skills Gap, BIM, Offsite and Digital Strategies to the industry on a regional and national level.
Following a recent inaugural meeting of the WM branch the focus for 2017 will be the Skills Gap. Generating initiatives that encourage and assist future generations of professionals into the industry through working with the member organisations, Built Environment Skills in Schools, Urban Land Institute, Generation for Change (G4C), Schools, Colleges and Universities in the West Midlands and the Combined Authority.
