The Programme for the 2016 Construction Industry Summit is announced.

The 2016 Construction Industry Summit (CIS) Programme has been revealed today. Highlights over the two-day programme include an opening Keynote on the ‘Government Construction Strategy’ by David Hancock, of the Government Construction Team; a Construction Leadership Council Question Time with Ann Bentley of Rider Levitt Bucknall, David Cash of BDP, Mike Putnam of Skanska and Simon Rawlinson of Arcadia; and a comprehensive array of leading industry speakers with presentations titled: Working with the Enemy; Disrupting the Norm; Buying Smart; Smart Cities and Open Data; Delivering the Future and; Innovation in Construction.
The Construction Industry Summit is being put together by the industry for the industry, working with government, to secure a built environment that is fit for the future. The Construction Industry Council, the Strategic Forum for Construction and the Construction Industry Training Board are pleased to come together as lead organisers of the 2016 Construction Industry Summit.
The Networking Drinks, Dinner and Award ceremony in the evening will be a coming together of a veritable Who’s Who in the sector, at which the Inclusive Environments Award will be presented for the first time. This new award will select a winner from among existing award winners for exceptional and inspired inclusive design in the built environment.
Day Two will begin with a Keynote Address by TeenTech CEO and Co-Founder, Maggie Philbin, and will end with the results of the CIS TeenTech City Challenge, taking place throughout the day. Teen Tech is an award winning, industry-led initiative which runs events, with a year-round supporting awards scheme, to help young teenagers see the wide range of career possibilities in Science, Engineering and Technology. Founded in 2008 by Maggie Philbin and Chris Dodson to help the “X Factor” generation understand their true potential and the real opportunities available in the contemporary STEM workplace, TeenTech events take place at venues across the UK and at each event 300 pupils from 30 different schools benefit from hands-on exhibits and challenges run by leading organisations. TeenTech works collaboratively with Education Business Partnerships, companies, universities and business organisations to create these very special experiences for young people.
