My Environment My Future School Programme 2025
Posted: 6th October 2025
The Built Environment Schools Trust (BE Schools Trust) is excited to announce the launch of its My Environment My Future (MEMF) educational programme for 2025-26.
After a thorough review of all lesson plans and teacher presentations, updating the look and accessibility of the materials, updated content is now available on the www.memf.careers website.
Launching the revised materials William Hill, Chair of Trustees at the Built Environment Schools Trust commented:
“The built environment sector is one of the largest employers in the UK, yet the range of careers on offer is not known about by most people outside the sector, and young people miss out on the opportunities it presents. Through MEMF we are proud to provide educational resources that enrich the teaching of GCSE and A-level Geography, and bring careers information into the core classroom curriculum.”
Through MEMF the BE Schools Trust aims to support the sector in attracting a more diverse pipeline of interested young people, enabling those from underrepresented and disadvantaged groups to enjoy rewarding careers in Property, Construction, Surveying, Environmental Consulting as well as work with some of the most advanced material and digital technologies.
Terry Watts, CEO of the BE Schools Trust, added:
“It is only right that every young person has the opportunity to consider the amazing careers on offer in the Built Environment. As a charity this is why we don’t charge for anything we offer; it is all free. The educational materials are developed by teachers, with employers, to enable schools to achieve their Gatsby Benchmarks, bringing employers and careers into the classroom.”
Teachers are encouraged to use MEMF materials however they think adds value to the students, and there is an award every year for most innovative approach by a teacher.
MEMF materials can also be used to introduce, or support entries to the free MEMF competition that connects geography curriculum to real-world scenarios when it is launched later in 2025; details already on the www.memf.careers.
We were delighted that from a starting point of 6% before using MEMF, 69% were interested in knowing more about the sector and 33% of young people reported that they were making course choices to enable them to explore careers in the sector after working with MEMF. We are excited to see what this year, with the improved materials will bring!
Teachers, career leads and employers can register and download all MEMF content here or contact us at info@memf.careers
Keep an eye out for Key Stage 2 and 3 resources coming soon!
